Begoña Arán es Doctora en Ciencias Biológicas por la Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona. Trabajó en el laboratorio de fecundación in vitro del Institut Universitari Dexeus desde 1986 hasta 2007. Fue coordinadora del Banco de Líneas Celulares del Centro Medicina Regenerativa de Barcelona (CMRB) desde 2007 hasta 2010.

A partir del 2010 hasta el 2012, fue la responsable del Proyecto de la Oficina de Apoyo a las Terapias Avanzadas de la Organización Catalana de Trasplantes (OCATT). Más tarde, pasó a ser la responsable científica y de la Unidad de Biotecnología de Mesoestetic Pharma Group hasta el 2014.

En Marzo de 2015 se reincorpora de nuevo al Banco de Líneas Celulares del CMRB para trabajar en el proyecto “European human Pluripotent Stem Cell Registry”, financiado por la Comisión Europea.
